Sir Alex On The Beat
Alex Ferguson says he won’t contest the five match touchline ban imposed on him for making uncomplimentary remarks about a referee. That's all well and good .
Maybe he wants the football authorities to rake all the skeletons they are capable of and he won't open the cupboards.
But what do you make of his remarks that “football is the only industry where you can't tell the truth". It’s quite a loaded sentence I think. Arsene Wenger might be smiling at his corner at the Emirates.
Honestly, I think some of the referees are bookish, or as someone chooses to describe them "textbook referees". Some of them need to use their discretion at times and stop the glaring misuse of the card.
But come to think of it, without them there will be chaos on the field just we often have in my country when the traffic lights cease to function and there are no guards to direct traffic. Drivers behave as if petrol has gone into their brains.
Nobody wants to give way to the other. Oh it’s a terrible experience. Cheers everyone.
