May 21st 1993: Twenty seven Black Stars players have been called to camp under coaches Osam Duodu and Jim Amoah.
They are Salifu Ansah, Ibrahim Dossey, Edward Ansah, Frimpong Manso, Emmanuel Ampeah, Yaw Acheampong, Sammy Adjei, Emmanuel Armah, Boison Justice, Ahmed Fatal Oguaa, Felix Aboagye Abdul Mumuni and Laud Oscar.
The others are Abedi Tugah, Alex Nyarko, Joe Okyere, George Arthur, Adjetey Lee, Nana Frimpong, Augustine Arhinful, Shamo Quaye, Ablade Kumah, Ohene Kennedy, Moro Issah, Baba Alhassan, David Asenso, and Emmanuel Donkor.
May 22nd 1993: World heavyweight boxing champion Riddick Bowe comfortably disposed of Jessie Ferguson within two rounds to retain his title but critics demanded to know when he was going to fight a live body.
May 22nd 1994: FIFA gives Zambia fair play team award for bravely rebuilding its national squad after the disastrous air crash that killed the entire team in Gabon.
May 21st 1999: Mike Tyson in jail since February for assaulting two motorists was granted parole and is scheduled for release not later than June 4. The Maryland Parole Commission voted 5-1 to grant the former heavyweight champion his release.
