Black Stars Set For Mali
May 30th, 2009The Ghana Football Association is taking no chances to ensure that Ghana makes another presence at the FIFA World Cup. Hectic preparations are under way to secure an important away victory over Mali in the final phase of the qualifying series and so the local league programme has been suspended this weekend to get full attention for a special friendly match against Uganda in Tamale on Sunday May 31st. more »
Sir Alex Got It Wrong This Time
May 28th, 2009It is ironical that at such a crucial moment, wizard manager Alex Ferguson should get his permutation wrong. His starting line up against Barcelona was most incapable to withstand the impeccable passing game of his opponents. The huge gap in the midfield looked like a stable without a gate and the dominance of the Spanish team was not in doubt. more »
There is Hope For Kotoko
May 26th, 2009Many secret admirers of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II mainly Asante Kotoko FC supporters, affectionately refer to the occupant of the Golden Stool as King Solomon, the biblical king who was reported to be the wisest man on earth in his days. more »
Sylvester & CO Deserve Punishment
May 21st, 2009I will have to return to the discussion on Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC in light of admission by the dismissed management that they failed miserably to work as a united group thus causing the downfall of the club. This is a serious indictment and I submit that the five man management team must be given some sort of punishment to serve as deterrent to future pretenders who take the management of the biggest football in Ghana as a joke. more »

Let's Save The Hen That Lays The Golden Eggs
May 19th, 2009It is ironical that at a time the football authorities in Ghana are seeking measures to revive interest in the local soccer league, Kumasi Asante Kotoko; the fabulous club that enjoys the biggest crowd support in the country is fast losing their attraction. It is most unusual that the 21 times league champions should lose seven matches when the second round of the competition is only three weeks old. more »

Benitez Is A Great Optimist
May 11th, 2009I am a great optimist and I strongly believe I will be moderately wealthy before I die. But I suspect the Liverpool coach is a greater optimist than me. With the writing clearly on the wall that Manchester United are heading for their hat-trick Premier league success, Benitez still feels by some twist of circumstances Liverpool can win the cup even with three points adrift of United and with only two games to go. more »

Kotoko Coach Throws In The Towel?
May 10th, 2009The teeming supporters of Kumai Asante Kotoko who thought their young braggart coach Opeele Aboagye could revive the sagging spirits of the club with some impressive victories must revise their notes. He seems to have given up. He says “the problems facing the club are such that not even a world class coach like Guus Hiddink of Chelsea will achieve anything in Kotoko”. more »

The Goals Really Did Come
May 7th, 2009My prediction that the goals would come in the second leg semi finals of the champions’ league really came to pass. Manchester United and Arsenal produced four goals in an exciting encounter at the Emirates Stadium, with United taking the lion’s share of three. It was a disappointing night for Wenger, who saw his men being mesmerized by a well lubricated United attacking machine. more »
Yes The Goals Will Surely Come
May 4th, 2009I made a prediction last week that even though the first leg semi finals of the European Champions’ League produced only one goal after more than three hours of football, the second leg would produce a lot of magical goals. The writing is very clear on the wall. more »

May 4th, 2009I would like to resurrect the ancient debate of what’s in a name. I have a sneaky feeling that whoever gave Charles Kofi Assampong, that talented Ghanaian footballer the nickname of “Charles Taylor” has done a lot of harm to the young footballer. more »
